Our Story
In 1991 following the dissolution of the Soviet Union, Ukraine declared its independence. With this came many opportunities to open up its borders for trade with the European Union. Identifying this remarkable untapped resource, in 1995 our Master French Cooper took over the reins at our Carpathian Cooperage which has been in operation since 1879.
With abundant natural resources at his disposal, primarily the tight grained Sessile Oak, Quercus Petraea, he has set about creating Wine Barrels rivalling those produced in the country where he developed his unique craft. Centuries old traditions and modern precisely measured techniques have been intertwined to accomplish results which complement and affirm our passion for excellence.
Testament to the outstanding quality and great value of the finished product, has seen a thriving export market develop. Our Wine Barrels are now used by many discerning winemakers around the globe, particularly those located in France and the Napa Valley.
